Best Website Themes

Best Website Themes

We are perhaps bias but we do think the Best Website Themes are with WordPress,  this is the very best and simplest website building platform to use, and arguably has the most user frendly easy to use WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) site builder, this and the very Best Website Themes, for all to see, every time you find a WordPress theme it looks more professional and polished then others.

There are a lot of website builders out there, each with good and bad strengths and weaknesses, most of them free and mostly only do an ok job of allowing non-techies to build a website, but most will feel a free site is in some way incomplete, because what most unworked free themes have to offer is just simply not professional enough.

If you have to build a web site yourself, build one with WordPress that will self SEO, auto update and generally look after itself, without the need for you to learn code mashing, HTML, XML, CSS and so on.

In order to do this you really do need to invest in a decent theme, usually not very much of an investment, considering the long hours some one has had to put into creating a good theme.

Most of us nowadays can populate the website with content and almost anyone can add pictures and text. But the magic is really in the design look, and this is where WordPress really shines with rock solid dependability, ease of use and a wide rang of the very Best Website Themes.

What is an IP address

What is an IP address

What is an IP address? simply put an IP address (Internet Protocol) is a number assigned to each and every computer on the internet, it is an address a number for your computer that identifies and sends traffic flow (data packets) from computer to computer, each computer will have it’s own Internet Protocol a number or IP address.

That’s the end of the simple part, an IP address a number, the rest you may not want to read, we will endeavor to summarise the principles in simple terms, but if you need an in depth study, and have a lot of  time on your hands, Wikipedia has most of the IP answers, scope and some depth of authority.

Most computers will have dynamic IP addresses, numerical IPv4 = 32 decimal (base-10) 4 groups of 4, =  (132.89.673.87) TheIP V4 is the dominant Internet Protocol in the Internet Layer in use today is IPv4; the number 4 is the protocol version number carried in every IP datagram. IPv4 is described in RFC 791 (1981).

What is an IP address - Whats behind that IP address?
Image : Optimus5

The successor to IPv4, is the IPv6, the most prominent modification over version v4 is the addressing system, IPv6 uses 128-bit addresses (c. 340 undecillion, or 3.4×1038 addresses) – a binary IPv6 = 128 bits – 8 groups of 4, hexadecimal (base-16) = (2001:cdba:0000:0000:0000:0000:3257:9652).
Although adoption of IPv6 has been slow, as of June 2008, all United States government have basic support for the system at backbone level.

Amazon or eBay

Amazon or eBay

Amazon or eBay, yes the age old question, the Mighty Amazon or eBay auctions, let’s see if we can explain some of the reasons why one will make you happier trading on-line and the other will not make you feel quite so happy.

Amazon was founded as “Cadabra” by Jeff Bezos on the 5th of July 1994 but not incorporated as Amazon.com until 1995 in Seattle, in the state of Washington US.

Jeff Bezos boss of Amazon, UK Domain.info/Amazon or eBayThe company was founded in 1994, by Jeff Bezos during the Internet business boom time in 1994.
Bezos left his employment as vice-president of D. E. Shaw & Co., a Wall Street firm, and moved to Seattle.
He began to work on a business plan that would eventually become the multibillion dollar business Amazon.com.
Jeff Bezos incorporated the company as “Cadabra” on July 5, 1994. but then after a lawyer misheard its original name as “cadaver”, Bezos changed the name to Amazon, the company went online as Amazon.com in 1995.

eBay Inc, was founded by Pierre Omidyar the following year on the 3rd of September 1995, and quickly became a notable dot-com success story.

San Jose Boss of eBay UK Domain.info/Amazon or eBayebay inc is now – 2015 a multibilliondollar business with headquarters in San Jose California, with operations in over thirty countries.
eBay is operated from several cities and exists entirely on the internet, no stores or shops, it is an American multinational corporation and e-commerce company providing business to consumer, and consumer to consumer sales services OnLine.
eBay Inc also has it’s own payment system and subsidiary called PayPal used by sellers and buyers alike to collect payments or to buy items.

Amazon Inc and eBay Inc are both American multinational e-commerce corporations, providing consumer to consumer & business to consumer sales and services via the Internet, but with fundamental differences at grassroots level.

At first glance, Amazon or eBay seem to be of general mutual benefit, for eCommerce store owners who can sell products to the individuals, and individuals can sell product to others online.
On closer inspection, the mutual benefits still remain in place, but the working reality is far more complex than at first sight.
Success depends on a lot of variables, marketplace strategy, fees and restrictions, types of product for sale, category competition and so on, that all need balanced consideration, ignoring any of these fundamentals may lead to boom for some and bust for others.

Both Amazon or eBay are of course detrimental to any business with a plan for building a brand.
Amazon and eBay are only interested in building their brand, neither have any interest in helping you build yours, regardless of what they say. At any moment Amazon or eBay could decide to make a terms or operational change that could render your business obsolete, you may be out of business the next day. Investing in a business based upon the whims of a third party that has no interest in your success is a recipe for disaster.

Amazon Gallery

Amazon Gallery

Most are familiar with the name Amazon, but what exactly is this amazon gallery, store or shop?
Amazon
is very similar to ebay, both are very successful at running an internet based business, and just like ebay there is no physical amazon store or shop as such that you can visit.
Amazon differ in one very important way, amazon have a number of warehouses, a very very large number of warehouses they call fulfillment centers.
The fulfillment centers
are full of products listed for sale on : http://amazon.com ready to ship out when an on-line sale is made, and that is the major difference between these two on-line giants.

Amazon Gallery - amazon warehouse

When you buy some thing from amazon, amazon already have the product in one of their numerous amazon fulfillment center warehouses, unlike ebay where when you buy some thing, you are for the most part left at the mercy of an all to often – pedantic third party seller.
Link this to the sometimes equally difficult buyer exploiting ebay’s terms weapon, and you can end up with a difficult trade.
Amazon will not publish comprehensive information about their fulfillment centers, but at the end of 2015 we know amazon had : – 96 (ninety-six) warehouses spread across 14 (fourteen) states in the USA alone, – 4 (four) warehouses  in India, 1 (one) in Italy, – 9 (nine) in Germany, – 3 (three) in France, – 12 (twelve) in China, – 6 (six) in Japan, – 2 (two) in Canada and 8 (eight) in the United Kingdom.
Amazon having recently announced they intend to expand their distribution network in all of these countries, they continue to expand at a pace.

What is a Subdomain

What is a Subdomain

What is a Subdomain, A subdomain is a domain that is part of a larger domain, used to assign a related unique name to a particular department or service.
For example, post.???.com or sales.???.com/ in this way a number of related topics could be categorised, and only accessed inside that particular subdomain.

Internet scammers use sub-domains, the scam is called ‘phishing‘ most understand this as online fishing, criminal fraudsters search the www with a hook just as deadly as hooks used to catch fish, criminal fraudsters use phishing techniques to catch sensitive information such as usernames, passwords or credit card details, by posing as a well known trustworthy electronic enquiry.

The word phishing is a new word, created from the two words fishing and phreaks. Some of the earliest phone hackers were known as phreaks. phone phreaking YouTube vidio below.

eBay Gallery

ebay Gallery

An eBay Gallery, shop or store you can physically touch, is not something that ebay actually has, contrary to common belief.

You may be familiar with the name ebay, seen it on the news and heard people talking about it, but what is this ebay shop, store and gallery thing anyway?
Some will be very surprised to hear ebay is simply a web-site, there is no physical eBay gallery, store or shop, eBay is just a very very large and incredibly successful web-site : ebay.com

For all you ebay devotees you can go straight to the : ebay home page

eBay inc. The website is free for buyers to use, however, sellers are charged fees not only for listing items but again when an item sells.
The company also takes additional fees through it’s PayPal subsidiary which can be used by sellers and buyers alike to collect payments or to buy items.

ebay is a remarkable place to buy and sell, one can get almost anything you want or need at prices better than you can find in most traditional on-line stores, there are lots of deals on eBay, a place where canny consumers can always find little gems and come out ahead, and it is of course very sociable because of the close interaction between buyers and sellers.

Some complain saying this very buyer seller interaction for the most part, is just annoying forced mutual compliments in the form of ebay’s feed-back system, and often feedback are only left merely to keep ebay happy, because if you don’t leave feed-back ebay will penalize your account.

What are Web Browsers

What are Web Browsers

What are Web Browsers is a good question that some are still not clear on the answer.
Web browsers are computer programs, each act as a door to the internet (WWW).
World Wide Web. Browsers are all slightly different.
Basically all browser programs allow access to view and interact with www or internet based websites.

Marc Andreessen invented Netscape, the first commonly available web browser with a graphical user interface was Erwise.
The development of Erwise was initiated by Robert Cailliau.
In 1993, browser software was further innovated by Marc Andreessen with the release of Mosaic, this made the WWW system easy to use and more accessible to the average person.
Andreessen’s browser started an internet boom in the 1990’s, his introduction of Mosaic in  1993 : one of the first graphical web browsers led to an explosion in web use.
Andreessen, the leader of the Mosaic team at National Center for Supercomputing Applications, soon started his own company named Netscape, and released the Mosaic-influenced Netscape Navigator in 1994, which quickly became the world’s most popular browser.
Microsoft responded with it’s Internet Explorer in 1995, also heavily influenced by Mosaic, sold with the PC-Windows. Internet Explorer gained dominance in the web browser market and usage by 2002 peaked at over 95%.

What is Domain parking

What is Domain parking

Domain parking refers to the registration of a domain name without hosting the domain or have any services such as a website or eMail etc.
This may have been done with a view to reserving the domain name for future development, or to protect the good name of a similar sounding domain against the possibility of cybersquatting, ie : someone may try to register www.Google.me/ and attempt to pass themselves off as www.Google.com/ or having aquired a similar name, may attempt to intimidate by threatening to sell the name to a competitor.
One may also have a number of similar sounding domains, ie :
www.avrolancastercrewmemorial.co.uk/ and www.avrolancastercrewmemorial.uk/ and have them all permanently redirected to the main site that is a .com/  ie : www.avrolancastercrewmemorial.com/

Domain parking may be done to reserve a good domain name for use at some other time, you can register a name to prevent anyone else claiming the good domain name.
Many web site developers simply register domain names similar to their main website domain name, simply to prevent others creating a similar site and cashing in by taking internet browser search traffic intended for the developers website.
AvroLancasterCrewMemorial.com/  is a good example, if this .com/ name had not taken the .co.uk/ and the .uk/ URLs it would be posible for any one else to do so, and by so doing could just sit back and see if the .com/ became successful enough to ether cash in on the hard work of the .com/ version, or put them up for sale and create a mini bidding war over the names.
Also by parking a good domain name means you can have the domain point to an advertising website page, to earn some cash and at the same time tell visitors the domain may be for sale, this will provide a very good temporary page that can easily pay for the up keep of the name while you decide what to do next.

The field of domain name parking is extensive, please find this link: Parking/Domain it is a very informative site.

What is the Tor Project

Tor and the Dark Art of Anonymity: How to be Invisible On-Line.

What is the Tor Project  Tor aims and objectives is to conceal users identities and online activity from all surveillance and traffic analysis tools, separating identification and routing by the implementation of an Onion routing system.
The Onion system encrypts data and then randomly bounces communications through a network of relays run by Tor user volunteers around the globe.

Tor (anonymity network) – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

What is the Tor Project Tor circuit How Tor works

Tor creats a private network pathway, the user’s software or client incrementally building a circuit of encrypted connections through relays on the internet.
The circuit is then extended in single hops, hop by hop, each relay-hop along the way only knows which relay gave it data and which relay it is giving data to, (the next hop).
In this way, and using the Onion system, no individual relay-hop will know the complete path that bit-data packet came from.
Tor client negotiates a separate set of encryption keys for each hop along the circuit to ensure that each relayhop can not trace the connections as they hop through.

Tor Browser Icon

The Tor Browser lets you use Onion on Windows, Mac OS X, or Linux without needing to install any software. It can run off a USB flash drive, comes with a pre-configured web browser to protect your anonymity, and is self-contained (portable).

How is Tor different from other proxies?

Proxy providers set up a server somewhere on the Internet, this allows you to relay your traffic, a simple and easy way maintain architecture.
Users all enter and leave through the same server, you just have to point your browser at their server.
Simple proxy providers are good if you don’t want protections for your privacy online and you trust the provider.
Simple proxy providers use SSL to secure your connection, this may or may not protect you from eavesdroppers in the local cafe with free wifi and your provider knows who you are and where you are.

Tor passes your traffic through at least 3 different servers before sending it to the destination, there’s a separate layer of encryption for each relay, Tor does not modify, or even know, what you are sending, it merely relays your encrypted traffic through to pop up elsewhere, completely intact.

What is a Domain Name

What is a Domain Name

This article explains what an Internet Domain name is, how one works, and how network address and domain names fit together On-Line.
What is a Domain Name
Do·Main-Name, domain-name is a noun : domain-names, is the plural of domain : domain is from Latin nōmen, literally meaning “name”, the part of a network address that identifies it belonging to a particular domain.
Domain names can be used to identify one or more IP addresses. For example, the domain name microsoft.com represents dozens of IP addresses. Domain names are also used to identify web pages www.example.com/

Every domain name or web-site has an end, ie : .com/ .co.uk/ .info/ etc. this indicates which level domain it’s name belongs to.
There are limited numbers of specific domain name extensions (ending’s) please see a very small number of examples below :-

.gov/ = Government / .edu/ = Educational institutions/
.org/ = Organizations/ (nonprofit) .mil/ = Military/
.com/ = commercial business/ .co.uk/ = United Kingdom/
.net/ = Network organizations/ .ca/ = Canada/ .th/ = Thailand/

See below a number of live web-site domain-name (web site address) extension examples  :-

www.boxmonitoredalarms.eu/  www.wikipedia.org/
www.dawntrade.co.uk/  www.marstoncourt.com/
www.ukdomain.info/  gmtimepieces.net/
boxsecurity.ltd.uk/  disappearhere.so/

Other dedicated extensions are available for more specific web-sites, see a number of examples below.

.mob/ = for mobile sites/ .travel/ = for travel sites/ .jobs/ =  for job sites etc.

Also because the internet is based on IP addresses, not just domain names, every web server requires a Domain Name System (DNS) the server will translate domain names into IP addresses, what is an IP address?

DNS –  (Domain Name System) will translate the numerical or binary IP address ie: (47.113.49.87)  into the human-friendly website addresses like : disappearhere.so/
Most computers will have dynamic IP addresses, numerical IPv4 = 32 decimal (base-10) 4 groups of 4, =  (132.89.673.87) or a binary IPv6 = 128 bits – 8 groups of 4, hexadecimal (base-16) = (2001:cdba:0000:0000:0000:0000:3257:9652) , but In some cases, a whole house or office will share the same IP address.
